Microsoft To Do is the task manager equivalent of a reliable rental car — unremarkable, free, and it gets the basic job done without complaint. We recommend it mainly to people already embedded in Outlook and Microsoft 365, since task integration with Outlook flagged emails and Teams is genuinely convenient. It’s missing the natural-language input, tags-as-contexts flexibility, and third-party integrations that competitors like Todoist or TickTick offer. Fine as a default, but not something we’d actively choose over dedicated tools if given the option.
