Our take

Make (formerly Integromat) trades Zapier’s simplicity for a visual canvas where you can see and control every branch, loop, and data transformation in a workflow. We think it’s genuinely better for complex, conditional automations — anything with multiple branches or bulk data processing is easier to build and debug visually than in Zapier’s linear step list. Pricing is also more favorable at scale, with operations-based billing that tends to go further per dollar. The tradeoff is a steeper learning curve; it’s less approachable for someone who’s never built an automation before.

Key features

  • Visual drag-and-drop workflow canvas
  • Conditional branching and loops
  • Built-in data transformation tools
  • Extensive API and webhook support
  • AI-assisted scenario building

What we like

  • More cost-effective at scale than Zapier
  • Visual canvas makes complex logic easier to debug
  • Strong for bulk data processing
  • Active template community

What could be better

  • Steeper learning curve than Zapier
  • Smaller integration library than Zapier
  • Can be overwhelming for very simple use cases
