Our take

Notion started as a note-taking app and ended up swallowing project management, internal wikis, and lightweight databases along the way. For solo operators and small teams who’d rather not stitch together five separate tools, it’s hard to beat — and the free plan is genuinely usable. The trade-off is performance on large workspaces and a learning curve that hits hard once you start nesting databases inside databases.
