Our take
IFTTT pioneered the simple trigger-action automation model years before Zapier existed, and it’s still genuinely useful for consumer and smart-home automations — turning on lights when you arrive home, saving social media posts to a spreadsheet, that kind of thing. We think it’s less relevant for professional workflow automation today, since business-app integrations and multi-step logic are far more limited than Zapier or Make. It’s worth keeping around specifically for personal and IoT automations, but we wouldn’t recommend it as a primary business automation tool.
